Satori Landscape Design offers a complete landscape design and construction process, from the initial consultation and study of the site through installation and the ongoing stewardship of the finished landscape. Each project is approached individually, with careful attention to the character of the property, the needs of the client, and the long-term life of the garden.
Consultation & Site Analysis
Every project begins with a conversation and a walk through the landscape. For a small consultation fee, Satori takes the time to understand your goals, interests, and ideas while becoming familiar with the character and existing conditions of the site.
If you choose to move forward into design, a more thorough site analysis follows, considering factors such as existing vegetation, topography, drainage, light, soil, views, circulation, and architecture. This understanding of the site provides the foundation for a thoughtful design that responds to both the land and your vision.
Design Services
With an understanding of both the site and your vision, Satori develops an initial schematic design that begins to give form to the possibilities of the landscape. This stage explores the overall organization of spaces, circulation, planting areas, hardscape, garden elements, and the relationships between them.
During this process, we create Schematic Designs, Planting Plans, Construction Documents, and continue Design Development.
Design is a collaborative process. Your feedback is an important part of this stage, and revisions are made as the design develops toward a direction that feels both considered and personal to you.
Installation
The fun part! With the design established, we bring the landscape into reality through careful installation and project management. Construction is approached with the same attention to composition, materials, craftsmanship, and detail that guides the design process.
From planting and natural stone to pathways, walls, water features, drainage, and other landscape elements, each component is considered as part of the larger composition. When specialized work is needed, Satori coordinates with trusted contractors and craftspeople to ensure the work is carried out to the standards of the design.
Stewardship
A well-designed landscape does not end when construction is complete. Gardens are living environments that change, mature, and develop over time.
Satori Landscape Design offers ongoing stewardship to help ensure that the landscape continues to grow into its intended character. This may include guidance on planting care, pruning, seasonal adjustments, replacement or addition of plants, and other ongoing considerations as the garden matures.
The goal is not simply to maintain what was built, but to help the landscape develop gracefully over time while preserving the quality, balance, and character of the original design.
